Street Maintenance 2013

New concrete access panel covers to storm water drains

Evan (#265) very kindly used his truck to pick up a couple of new concrete access panel covers (approx $75 each) for our street storm water drains – outside homes #300 & #301.

On the afternoon of 15th July 2013, Evan (#265) and Mike (#276) carried out the work to remove the couple of existing (old and in need of replacement) concrete access panels and put in the new ones.

Street Graffiti Removal

First a BIG! “Thank you” to Tim (#257), Steve (#261), Evan (#265), Dave (260) and Mike (#276) for taking time away from their families, giving up some of their valuable time, to spend a good couple of hours on a Sunday (22nd July 2013) morning to help clean up four pieces of graffiti that had recently appeared on our street. Without them volunteering our street would have been left with a costly expense to have the graffiti removed by a “professional” service…

With the aid of cleaning products, scrubbing brushes and a power-washer, the above mentioned residents set about removing the four pieces of graffiti from our street. After a couple of hours hard-work out in the humidity, they had more than satisfactorily removed the graffiti from our street and with time (a year or so of weather) those four areas should be indistinguishable from the rest of the street.
